New Design

I admit it... I did it. I swore I would always put the work into developing my own layout; I always thought templates were for blogs and other extended networks, but not for one's homepage.

And yet... here I am, wrestling with time constraints, and my host offers a plethora of wonderfully expressive templates... ones which place a less cluttered look to my page and I am deciding that perhaps templates aren't a bad thing after all.

I mean, you are basically using the services of professionally developed layouts for free! The site looks snazzier ever since I decided to include the templates, and a short alteration to the code is all I need to update! And since I already know the coding involved (from trying to develop my own layout), I can easily edit this one to behave like I want it to.

Win-win, if you ask me.

Originally, the new template was only going to be for one section, but I will probably be extending it for other ones. I will, however, require heavy modification for at least one of the three sections in mind, heavy enough to involve me taking new photos for borders and such, developing areas for ads, etc.

Ah the wonderfully over-busy life of one devoted to the arts and developing a website hub for storytellers! But it will happen, dammit!

Psychomantium has moved!

Greetings and salutations,

To update on my excursion through creating an online web-presence (basically a marketable community of practice), I now have purchased a domain.

The material from the psychomantium can now be found under http://www.monsterintern.com, under the "storyteller" section.

I plan on having a LOT of content on the site. It will be basically divided into three sections, the storyteller, which will be much like psychomantium once was, the philosopher, with essays on free speech as my first project, and the philanthropist, with forums, open discussions, links to charities, links to other people's works, etc.

I hope you like the new site :)

The GruntWorker

Just like in terms of my current job (sloshing coffee), I am currently hard at work on something one would think comes easily: internet development.

I say that one would think it comes easy because it takes a lot of hard work for an internet website to seem 'easy', and to be easily navigatable. I am currently attempting to develop breadcrumbs for my website (The Psychomantium) once it goes 'live' and I actually buy a domain.

I'm not sure if development will prove easier once I am live or not, but we'll see.

I also am working hard to keep my squidoo site (The Storyteller) updated and, hopefully, promiting it a bit. My little extended network might seem like it is harder to promote, since I am now trying to advertize for three sites instead of one, but I think it will give me a bigger presence and overall, I do strongly believe that no hard work goes unrewarded... so long as one actually does the work.

With that said, you can look forward to my updated website soon. I am thinking hard about the backend, and attempting to make a design that is both intuitive and attractive.

It is surprisingly hard to find a website at once easy on the eyes and useful. I guess that could be said about a lot of things...

The Links, The Fun, The games

I know, I didn't update this page in awhile. But still, I thought I'd drop a line, blabber on about things...

Observing the cars passing by, I am constantly frustrated by the human ability to waste resources. Four-seater cars polluting the air... with one driver on a cell-phone.

Or, ditto, with a passenger being ignored.

You can read my post on akpcep.com. It rants about this and other problems with technology.

I am also working on my website, with many short stories and the such. I am in the process of developing a back-end, so it is hard to say how often it will be updated (though I dare say it will be more often then this blog... ah well...)

Another place to go for interesting internet information is at squidoo. It is basically a site devoted to anyone who themselves is devoted to... well.. anything. A hobbyist's dream and a time-wasters utopia, the site is a collection of people talking about what they have a passion for. You can read my squidoo lens or sign up for your own.

At any rate, I hope to blog more often, with more interesting news, when it becomes applicable.

Until then, I will catch you on the flipside.
